Troop 333, Chartered on February 1, 1963, has a rich history of leadership development and a tradition of service to the community.  From February 1999, through February 2002, 13 Scouts achieved the rank of Eagle Scout -- a rank attained by fewer than 2% of all youth who enter the Scouting program.

The Troop follows the principles of a "boy run troop" where Scouts, through their elected leadership, plan and execute the meetings, activities and outings.  The adult leaders act as an ever present resource to help, advise and support them in achieving their goals, which they have indicated are:

  • Make sure that Scouts have fun and learn at the same time.

  • Keep scouts interested in advancement and stay involved in Scouting.

  • Guide boys in planning the troop program.

  • Provide leadership training and developmental opportunities for scouts.

In order to achieve these goals, Scouts in the Troop engage in a wide variety of diverse activities.  We have weekend outings (campouts) 10 months out of the year.  We have the equipment and adult supervision for a full rock climbing and rappelling program.  Typically, the summer months include 1 week at Scout summer camp and the opportunity to participate in an additional activity appropriate for their age, skill and experience.  While the younger Scouts may combine 2-days of cycling with a visit to a historical site, the older Scouts have had the opportunity to participate in multi-week outings such as:

  • High Knoll High Adventure Base (Summer 2002)
    Blue Ridge Mountains, VA

  • Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico (Summer 2003)

  • Sea Base, Florida Keys (Summer 2005)

  • Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico (Summer 2006)

  • Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico (SUMMER 2006)
